Portable DC interrupter PPT-3-12 SHIK
The DC interrupter PPT-3-12 is designed for short-term disconnections of cathodic protection of underground utilities during diagnostics of the electrochemical corrosion protection system.
The interrupter provides:
- switching on and off the current of the cathodic protection of underground utilities according to the time clock synchronized by the signals of the GPS satellite system;
- synchronization by the built-in clock, in case of loss of the GPS signal;
- digital indication of all values on the liquid crystal display;
- programmable operating time.
The advantage of the DC interrupter PPT-3-12 SHIK is: the ability to operate both in portable and stationary mode; can be connected to any cathodic protection station of any modification (inverter, transformer) of any manufacturer; can work according to any international standards (European, American, CIS); can be regulated in any interrupt range accurate to 1 second; can be synchronized with a group of interrupters via GPS.
The GPS satellite navigation system is not only a means of determining the location, but also a good time reference. Each satellite contains a cesium or rubidium atomic clock. They are controlled by atomic clocks on Earth, and the entire system is continuously calibrated according to coordinated universal time. The accuracy of such a clock is no more than 700 nanoseconds. This is quite enough to synchronize the interrupter. The internal clock is quartz with temperature compensation.
The high-frequency signal from the antenna goes to the GPS receiver. The GPS receiver processes the high-frequency signal and outputs signals to the microcontroller. The microcontroller analyzes the signals, controls the power switch, polls the keyboard and outputs data to the display.
A DC interrupter is needed to measure the potential and the on/off gradient. Thanks to GPS synchronization, synchronous operation of several interrupters is carried out, which facilitates work on large sections of pipelines. The mode of operation of these interrupters can be set manually, which is an advantage over its analogues, where the interrupt modes are set by the manufacturer.
